Yoga teaches your brain how to flexibly adapt to change.
Our brain lives mainly on two things:
Newness and repetition.
Newness (on the mat , trying a new pose , in life to face a challenge) , whatever it is , it will take you out of your comfort zone , to solve the new upcoming “problems”.
This creates new connections in the brain to “act” and ADAPT.
Repetition makes these connections stronger.
Just like when you stretch and flex , the body muscles get stronger too , so does you “mental” muscles.
Like when we get a new pose - we go , “WTH , I won’t be able to do this.”
And after a while , we say , . “OK , I’VE GOT THIS”.
This is what we need to TAKE OUT OF THE MAT , RIGHT NOW.
There is a grief period for the life changing that we are going through right now.
But the quicker we accept and adapt , and look forward and not to what we lost , we will find new ways of doing old things.

🌻 I scrolled past a quote this morning (before losing it) that said something to the effect of: . ✨ remember , kindness is infectious , too , and if we’re kind to each other , we can spread hope and faith across the entire globe. ✨ .
I’m sure I butchered it a bit , but the thought stuck out to me and I truly love it. 💕
what can we do to contribute to a positive atmosphere , a reason to hope and a sense of faith the things that make me feel light during this time are:
☀️the sun rises every single day 💕we can stay in touch with those closest to us
🙏🏽there’s amazing opportunity to feel community virtually ✨this is a great time to breathe and ground through what is here and now for each of us individually—taking stock of our feelings and expressing ourselves through movement , conversation , journaling , etc.
🤗we can choose to smile and love and help and pray 🤸🏽♀️movement is medicine , and we can move to our hearts content (just jump in on any of the IG story challenges!)
I think it changes the game when we are proactive about spreading good—whether it’s thoughts , words or actions. 🌸 focusing on the good (though hard sometimes) makes every situation better. .
my one challenge to you is to smile when you start to feel down and to say something kind to yourself. 😘 .

Day 9: Mermaid Pose 🧜🏼♀️ How-to Enter this Asana 👇🏼 1. Start in downward facing dog. Inhale , right leg three-legged dog. Exhale , half-pigeon pose. Slide your shin forward toward the front of your mat with the knee in front of your right hip and the heel near your lift hip point. Ensure your hips are square with one leg directly behind you and the toes point backward.
2. Stack your shoulders over your hips. Reach your left hand for the inside edge of your back foot. Draw the heel in closer to the crux of your elbow. Reach your hands around to grasp toward the side of your leg or above your head as pictured.
3. Gracefully release. Curl your back toes under and lift your leg back to the sky. Option to flip your dog or find a wild thing. Repeat on your left side.

CHALLENGES -I am very sure that Challenges are there to help us improve , to help us understand ourselves and become the best version possible .In times of change we do need something that can anchor us.⛵ It's definitely different for everyone what that might be. For me its my yoga practice .🧘♀The fact that I'm stepping on my mat for every morning to meet myself .It makes me more grounded and present which are really helpful tools when everything around feels challenging .I focus a lot on inversions ,since inversions are postures that help us find more balance .🤸♀❤
